Seth Panis Castle.
In the very center of Andorra la Vella, in the area called Barry Atik, there is the castle of Set Panis. The history of the construction of this castle is very interesting. Its history began in the distant 16th century. At this time, there was a deficit in Andorra with premises for storing state secrets.
In order to solve the problem that the republic faced, the Andorran State Council issued a decree on building a storage facility.
As a result, the building was built, and all important documents found their shelves. The storage itself was placed under round-the-clock protection of the local guards. Access to the document was only seven people. Each of them represented one of the seven territorial divisions of Andorra.
It is because of this feature of access to documents that the building received its name. It is translated as "a chest with seven locks." The word chest in the title appeared due to the shape of the building of Seth Panis. Today, the museum of the same name is located in the castle. It has valuable historical manuscripts and documents.
One of the most ancient buildings of Andorra la Vella is the legendary castle of d'Enclard. This defensive structure was built on the top of a hill, at an altitude of 1126 meters. There was this event in the 9th, or in the 11th century.
The castle of d'Enclard was the possession of Count Urgelskich. The latter lived in the castle all the time. This explains his good external and internal state today. In addition to architectural values, the castle is known for its magnificent views of the surrounding area.
